Contact us: info@immigration-service.com
Family class immigrants must be sponsored by a close relative. People who can apply in the Family Class must be related to their sponsor in one of the following ways:
The sponsoring relative must be at least 19 years old, must be living in Canada as a permanent resident or citizen, and he or she may be asked if one is financially capable of providing assistance to you and your dependents for a specific period of time, up to ten years.
As a Family Class applicant you will not be assessed by the point system. But you will have to provide to the visa officer that you meet Canada's health and character standards.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SPONSORED APPLICANTS
The applicant and all dependents, whether they are to accompany
you to Canada or not, must satisfy the requirements of the Canadian
Immigration Act and Regulations:
meet health requirements by passing medical examinations.
Be law abiding and provide police clearance certificates as evidence.
Be not a risk to Canadian society.
Have valid passports or travel documents.
Have produced supporting documents required by the visa officer
to establish your admissibility.
WHO CAN BE INCLUDED ON MY APPLICATION?
You can include the following persons on your application:
a) your spouse
b) your unmarried children who are under 19 years of age when
your application is submitted and who have remained unmarried
when the visas are issued and when you arrive in Canada
c) your children over 19 (whether married or not) and your married
children under 19: who are financially dependent on you and are:
enrolled as full-time students in an educational institution when
your application is submitted and still enrolled when the visas
are issued.
d) Dependent children who are unable to support themselves because
of a physical or mental disability. Please note that some disabilities
could result in a refusal for medical reasons.
CUSTODY OF CHILDREN FROM FORMER MARRIAGES
If you have children from previous relationships or they are being
taken to Canada by only one parent, the parent must provide official
documents stating custody of the children. The non-emigrating
parent should sign a declaration that he or she has no objection
to the child going to Canada and understands that a permanent
separation may result.
THE SPONSOR MUST PROMISE
The sponsor agrees to give shelter and care to the sponsored relatives
and provide other living expenses as necessary for a period of
ten years. This means that the newcomer should not need financial
help from the government.
